Our Approach to Therapy
We believe effective therapy begins with connection and grows through collaboration. At Mindspring, therapy is not just about one-on-one sessions—it’s about empowering the broader support network surrounding a child or young adult.
Our model is intentionally structured, focused, and responsive. Therapy is guided by clearly defined goals that target specific symptoms or challenges. We typically work in focused 8–12 week cycles, with regular reassessment to determine whether therapy is making meaningful progress. Together with families, we evaluate whether continued treatment is appropriate, or if another level or type of support may be more effective.
Our therapists actively engage with your child’s care network—including schools, pediatricians, psychiatrists, and related service providers—to ensure alignment and consistency across environments. Every therapy plan is tailored to the individual’s developmental level and lived experience, drawing on evidence-based techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play-based approaches, parent coaching, and more.

Virtual therapy is only considered in unique circumstances.
Follow-Up
After each cycle of therapy, the therapist, patient, and family reassess goals and determine if therapy should continue, if an alternative method of therapy is needed, or if referrals for other services are warranted.
