About Us

We strive to understand the entire system affecting the child

Mindspring Development Services is a pediatric neuropsychology practice based in Waldwick, NJ. Dr. Petouvis founded the practice to provide evaluation services for children, adolescents and young adults, while supporting the family unit, schools and other professionals involved.

Child-Centered Care

We believe no child “fits in a box.” We are committed to putting the needs and well-being of each child at the center of everything we do. Our goal is to help each child feel understood and supported.

Evidence-Based Practice

Our practice is guided by collecting measurable information about the youth, in order for parents and schools to feel confident about receiving evidence-based recommendations.

Collaboration and Compassion

We pride ourselves in the ability to work equally with parents and schools. When a school or a parent reaches out, we assure them that the evaluation will be ultimately for the child.

Supporting Growth

With insights from a comprehensive assessment, we provide guidance that support a child’s current and future growth, towards developing skills and resilience needed for every stage of life.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based neuropsychological and related services for children, families, and schools. We aim to empower "the village" surrounding every child with the knowledge and tools necessary to support their unique strengths and challenges.

About Dr. Lindsay Petouvis

Founder & Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Early in my life, I knew I wanted to be a psychologist. This was when I did not even know how to spell the word “psychologist.” As I developed my sense of self, and I watched my friends process the same time period differently, I became very interested in how people think and behave as they grow up.

As I started off my early career, I worked in education in multiple roles – as a teacher’s assistant, instructor & home program provider for children with autism, and as a school psychologist. During my time as a school psychologist, I found my love of assessment. I realized I love working to find answers related to how people learn, behave, and think, using the least subjective methods possible.

While earning my doctorate, I made the decision to focus on neuropsychology for my pre- and post-doctoral internships while simultaneously working in schools. I became a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and New York. Following, I pursued additional instruction and supervision, which ultimately led to me being dually board certified by the American Board of School Neuropsychology and the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology.

For the past 11+ years, I have been working primarily in private practice, conducting neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. My early career experience working in schools has helped ground me in having realistic knowledge of our education system, both public and private. Working in this capacity has permitted me to continually have an understanding of the primary systems children are part of – home and the family unit, as well as school and social environments.
